When it comes to packing before a move, you have to make sure that you have all the right packaging supplies. If you don’t, then you could find yourself in a situation where you are risking damage to very valuable items.
Here is a list of the six most common packaging supplies for removal, and the reasons why they are so important to have around.
This is probably the one item that everyone will think of. Cardboard boxes are ideal for packing everything away before labelling them so you know what’s inside. When it’s leading up to removal time, try and find any boxes that you may have lying around the house that could be put to good use.
Once you have placed all your items in their boxes, you will need to seal them down using duct tape. It’s probably best that you try and buy the strongest tape you can find. Better to be safe than sorry. Otherwise, you risk the possibility of the contents falling out during removal. Having strong duct tape is also useful when trying to secure protective wrapping around a large item.
Bubble wrap is the perfect packing material to have around. Not only is it very effective at keeping delicate objects safe, but it’s also very lightweight and can be easily placed into cardboard boxes to protect the contents. Try and have plenty of bubble wrap around for things like cups, plates, and other glass objects.
Paper sheets are a very good thing to have with you, and they’re something that the majority of removal companies use. They basically act as an extra protective layer to things that are made of glass or other delicate items. Paper sheets should be wrapped around glass objects first before the bubble wrap to make sure they are effective.
Even though you have duct tape, it’s best to have some sellotape on hand for the smaller objects. You may have some items that are going into the cardboard box that needs sealing, in which case the sellotape will be ideal.
Always make sure you have a marker pen with you in order to write the labels on the boxes. People are often caught out without a marker, so make sure you have one that you keep with you throughout the entire move just in case you need it.
